Franklin Oakes is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing specialist education provider to appoint an exceptional Director of Therapeutic Services.

This is a rare opportunity to join a values-led organisation that is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and developing therapeutic services across a national portfolio of specialist schools.
 

The Opportunity
 

Leading a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, including Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Counsellors and Psychotherapists, you will drive the strategic direction of therapeutic services while ensuring the highest standards of clinical governance, quality and innovation.
 

Working closely with senior education leaders, you will embed therapeutic practice throughout the organisation, helping to create truly integrated, child-centred environments where pupils can thrive.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Provide strategic leadership for therapeutic services across multiple specialist education settings.

  • Lead and develop a national multi-disciplinary clinical team.

  • Strengthen clinical governance, quality assurance and safeguarding frameworks.

  • Embed therapeutic practice into educational delivery to improve outcomes for children and young people.

  • Use data, evidence and outcome measures to drive continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders across education and operations.

  • Support organisational growth while maintaining excellence in therapeutic practice.


About You
 

We're looking for an experienced clinical leader who can demonstrate:
 

  • Significant leadership experience within SEND or specialist education.

  • A proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary therapy teams.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory standards.

  • The ability to influence at executive level and work collaboratively across multiple disciplines.

  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on leadership approach.

  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
